Trailblazing Street Art Exhibition Featuring Banksy Debuts in Northamptonshire

For the first time ever, Northamptonshire welcomes an array of globally acclaimed artists, including Banksy, in a groundbreaking exhibition called "Steel Nerve." Hosted by the Rooftop Arts Centre in collaboration with Brandler Galleries, the show aims to redefine the cultural landscape of the region while making contemporary urban art accessible to the community. Running from 1st November to 28th January, the event promises to be a landmark in the UK art scene.

Luisa Omielan stands at the forefront of comedy innovation. Recognised by BAFTA with a pioneering Breakthrough commendation, her one-woman performances have redefined the genre. Omielan’s self-produced standout, ‘God is a Woman’, follows four critically acclaimed shows, reinforcing her status as an unparalleled comedic talent. Her signature Thigh Gap segment, part of a routine that amassed over 50 million views, helped solidify her as the architect of ‘one of the biggest stand-up hits of the decade’, starting with ‘What Would Beyonce Do?!’ Her groundbreaking efforts continued as she transformed her show ‘Politics For Bitches’ into a BBC3 series. Building on her previous triumphs, 2024 will mark the debut of her new tour, ‘Bitter’.

Omielan has won over audiences with her undeniable wit and presence, described as life-altering and supernova-like in the comedic firmament. Despite this, she’s faced criticism for being unapologetically outspoken and emotionally candid. Rebelling against this censure, Omielan is ready to defy convention and establish her own rules.

In her own words, Luisa expresses her discontent with societal expectations: “Working hard doesn’t cut it. The whole game feels rigged. Whatever you do, don’t complain about it. Just smile, bitch. Write your gratitude journal and manifest. Everyone in power seems to be either a self-serving, egotistical maniac or have the moral backbone of a flaccid dead fish. Is it any wonder more women are choosing to stay single and not have children?! Not me! Not by choice, anyway. My single childless status is purely thanks to my beautiful cock blocking dog, she’s very protective!”

‘Is she bitter?’ you might ask. The answer is an unequivocal yes. And so, perhaps, should we all be. Is ‘Bitter’ a comedy? Absolutely.

Omielan’s Valentine’s Party, an annual event for over a decade, has become a much-anticipated highlight, bringing together her loyal fans in a celebratory and inclusive space, particularly for women and the LGBTQ community. From a modest gathering of 150, the event now entertains a thousand attendees. This year, the Valentine’s Party will be an intimate affair, held in conjunction with her show at the Clapham Grand, promising an unforgettable night: “After the gig, we’ll knock out a power ballad and some En Vogue on Spotify and still have you on the last train home”.
