The recently rebooted Hellraiser horror franchise has some news that could intrigue fans. Director David Bruckner opened up about the possibility of a sequel in an interview with ComicBook.com. The 2022 reboot, featuring Sense8 actress Jamie Clayton in the role of the iconic cenobite Pinhead, received a mixed response. However, the enthusiasm for a sequel among the franchise’s fanbase was immediate and palpable.

Bruckner noted that while the decision for a sequel isn’t entirely up to him, he remains hopeful.

“We’ve been wanting to hear from the audience, and I don’t know yet, but I certainly hope there’s a future there, so we will see”

he shared in the interview.

This isn’t the first time Bruckner has expressed interest in a follow-up. In a previous discussion with the same publication in September 2022, the director spoke highly of the original Hellraiser film. “The original film is a masterpiece. And diving deeper into the world, I found myself truly in awe of what had been created, and so you want to do that justice, and you want to pay homage where it’s due,” he said.

Bruckner went on to talk about the balance of respecting the original while bringing something new to the table. “At the same time, you have to respect your process… And so, of course, in making this, there’s so many things to be excited about Hellraiser,” he concluded.
