"You could sense something different"
by Jo Watson, Writer & Editor
It must be tricky for a band to choose a début single. Picking the right one will boost your exposure and fan base ten fold, flop and you may disappear into oblivion. When your band is Little Vegas Lies, and you have a fan favourite at your disposal, My Ghost Town is the only and obvious choice. Luckily for us, they picked it.I had met the band at their EP launch party back in March of this year. It was the first time I had heard them and seen them live. If we are being honest, most local bands are mediocre at best, but when LvL started to play and sing My Ghost Town, you could sense something different. Everyone was singing along to it. It was an amazing sight, and looking back you can see why. It's song we can all relate to.
Front man, Simon Moore, sings (and does so with some true passion) about the anxieties felt in a relationship that is drawing closer to an end. Every word of his pain and anguish is felt so strongly when sang with his soulful Yorkshire voice.
It truly is a superb song, a definite classic. Well written, and with vocals and music to match, it is a perfect example of the boys capabilities.
The single is available on iTunes, Napster, eMusic, Zune, Tunetribe, and a video to accompany it (created by Sigourney Vowles) can be see on their YouTube channel:
